Real World / Historical Differences
Every effort has been made to ensure that things are as accurate as possible while accommodating the medium in which they are presented however differences do occur. On Great George Street the main difference is that the hill is represented as a geometric flat plane. Graphics lend to a illusion of a slight incline. Textures and colors on buildings may differ from the ones in 1864. In general buildings were either white or weathered wood. A building that was a different color would probably be reported in the newspaper such as Reddin's Red Warehouse. Wherever possible colors were used on objects instead of textures in order to speed up downloads.

The layout for Great George Street is based on the 1864 Lake Map. Old photographs were used where possible to determine what certain buildings looked like. Quite a few houses are still on the street from 1864. Some buildings could not be identified. These have question marks and we would welcome any information on these properties. Street Backgrounds are not entirely accurate. In Province House most but not every object and piece of furniture is shown due to file sizes. Scaling is slightly different to allow for movement in the vrml environment. Detail on furniture is more intricate in Province House than in our version due once again to file size.
